English Class

Learning English in the university was quite different mostly because I never write any blog in my life of any kind not even in Spanish!  I also thought it was going to be a more heavy class I did expect to be quite stressed for this, but so far it has been a nice class.
While doing the blogs I realized that I'm not good written it's hard for me like I don't know how to start to write something it does take me long to be clear on how I’m going to be writing about, but I do think that use blogs is a really good way to develop the English, for some blogs I did have to investigate and doing that and correcting myself I started to improve my English abilities and skills. But I still feel that there's a lot of things that I have to learn, for example, the grammar part of English, when I say or write something I do tend to do the sentences for how good it sounds and that leads to many mistakes, I also need to learn more vocabulary because I use the same words over and over again (like in the blogs) and a lot of times I want to say something in English but I don't know the word to say it. I'm also very shy when I'm speaking English because there are quite a few things that are hard for me to say out loud.
Outside the class of English, I don't speak much the language, in my daily life the only time that I interact with English is when I see series where the original language is English because I don't like the translation to Spanish.

Chemistry Programme

I think a programme of a career always can be better in any place, because never satisfy all the wishes of the students or teachers. For me the chemistry programme is very good it has a good approach, even though I would reduce hours in some classes like chemistry and society or the introduction to the career of chemistry, these classes are important but they have too many hours that are often unnecessary and take up too much time, time we could use studying for all the other classes that also have many hours, but if this classes didn't have this much hours we couldn't learn everything that we need to learn.
Some of the subjects in the curriculum are different types of chemistry, math and laboratories like General chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, laboratories of inorganic, organic, chemical analysis, a lot of mathematics, mechanics, electives, etc.
The use of technology is pretty average so far, but I think for a university and for these times there is a lack of equipment in laboratories it happens sometimes that some people has to move to another part of the laboratory because they don’t have what is needed for doing what we have to do like, distillation for example.
Every teacher has his own method, there is teachers that follow a power point some just do the class in the board, but everyone is exigent in their own way, I don’t think that exist some teacher that gave you a note as easy we would want. Of course I think there are better teaching methods when I compare them, for example, I thank teachers when they pass material and they immediately make some application of what was seen.

The faculty is very nice for summer because there is plenty of green space and shadow, but in winter it is horrible because there is not a big place for all of us to stay for whatever we want like studying or even have lunch! The buildings and classrooms are quite modern, all rooms have heated air and air conditioning, which is very much appreciated.

My Opinion

It’s important to have an opinion about different things in our reality, that’s why I’m going to answer some question:

• What is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets?

I don't really understand the people who buy pets, when there are lots of animals in the streets who don't have a home to eat and sleep, there is no need to buy a dog of breed, or an exotic cat, it’s not even that you have to pick up an animal from the streets, there is tons of people who are giving animals because they can't have them in their homes and they gave to you with their vaccinations and sometimes they even go to your house with the pet!

• What is your opinion about having an exotic pet at home?

I think it's pretty dangerous for humans to have an exotic pet at home and for the animal it must be a stressful situation, because most of this animals need to live in the wild, where they have a big land to run and be free. The person who wants this kind of pet also needs a special training, an exotic animal need medical care and for that the owner needs financial resources.

• What is your opinion about Immigration? 

An immigrant is a person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another.

I believe that immigration gives too much to a country, is a way of accept things that maybe we normally wouldn't do and learn about different cultures, the immigrants don’t go to other countries to steal or kill, they don’t commit more crimes than a native-born citizens, I'm very sure if they didn’t have any need probably most of them never would leave their country and their families.

•  What is your opinion about recycling?

According to Eunomia, Germany is the country with the best recycling rate in the world and Chile is not even near to this place. In countries like Germany, Austria and South Korea, they have strict laws for recycling, in Chile we need this king of laws, because recycling and composting are important activities for conserving the environment and reducing waste also recycling helps to reduce: the demand for new resources like minerals, energy use, and air and water contamination.
